Theory Document Hand in...

A quick update with what is happening in the final stages of our B.Tech year... We have reached the stage where portfolios are happening left right and center!! But today was a huge weight off our shoulders... We handed in our treatise/thesis documents... Now we focusing on computers and construction work!! Wish us luck:)

The beginning of detail design...

The past couple weeks have been about focusing on detail design for our spaces... We have had two hand ins, but I thought I would share the most recent hand in, as it is the only one I am happy with at this stage... For the second hand in I focused on designing my booth seating for my restaurant space and the "POD" designs for my office... Keep in mind this is only the beginning stages...

Product Design Final Hand in...

Today we were required to hand in our final product designs... and as mentioned in previous posts my two products were an office desk as well as a light design. For this hand in we were to have a full scale model of one of the product designs. For this I decided to make my office desk. It isn't 100 percent finished, but where the design is currently I am very happy!! and my lecturers gave me very helpful feedback to improve it even more!! I have also put my posters on to give some indication on what the final two products look like. Please feel free to give me feedback:)

Update on furniture design...

So it has been a while since I posted about my furniture design piece... I met with the carpenter today, and it is all looking positive... Have to pop in often to keep up to date with the progress, but I am very excited to see the final product!!

Will post pictures as soon as I can:) Hand in date for the piece is on the 19th, so hopefully he will be finished by then!!

Office Desk Product Design...

So following on from my previous post, this is the first of my products... the Office Desk!! I feel it is quite fitting that I design an office desk, as I am designing an office space... The design of the desk was inspired by firstly my theory of "the future office" as well as the geometric forms that have been used in the design of the building... The idea was to create a desk that was made for the "hotdesking" kind of person... The desk opens up to hidden storage, which is used to store personal belongings, which can be locked away when necessary...

Product Design...

This semester we have been given the task of designing two furniture pieces that specifically relate to our designs this far... I have decided to design a light as well as a desk for the "Hot Desking" people in my office space... We have done sketches and gathered inspiration photos, but will shows my sketches at a later stage...
